An interesting agreement was signed by the Municipality of San Esteban, through its Senda Office, with different companies in the commune, for the execution of two programs, which will allow training and guiding workers regarding the use and abuse of drugs and alcohol.

It is about executing “Working with Quality of Life” and “Parental Preventive Skills”, initiatives that are developed at the national level and that have achieved a high impact and positive conclusions. The first is a tool for the prevention of alcohol and drug consumption in work spaces and contributes to improving the quality of work life and develops a preventive culture. Meanwhile, the second course seeks to develop prevention strategies with adults, as they are parents and significant adults of children and adolescents, enhancing the role they have as preventive agents and thus strengthen the protective factors of alcohol consumption and other drugs through the development of parenting skills.

The ceremony was attended by Julia Herrera Castro, Human Resources Manager at Exportadora Anjarí Ltda, Felipe Escobar Serey, HR and Prevention Manager at Agrícola Don Ernesto and Tamar Acevedo Valdebenito, Risk Prevention Advisor at Viña San Esteban, professionals who, together with Mayor Christian Ortega, ascribed to this mutual working agreement to strengthen prevention within their companies.

“We are new to this, we started this year. Our idea is to work together with Senda to help us in terms of prevention for both our workers and their families, ”said Julia Herrera.

For his part, the representative of Agrícola Don Ernesto pointed out that “one of the main objectives to sign this agreement is to support workers who have some deficiencies in the consumption of alcohol and drugs, it helps us to know who needs help and not we have noticed".
